چکیده
Considering the development of bacterial resistance to chemical antibiotics and their adverse effects on environment public health, there is a growing demand replace them with plant-based derivatives or combine these green agents give synergistic effects. In this study, antimicrobial properties essential oils extracts six medicinal plants from Ahvaz region, Iran, against 12 gram-positive gram-negative bacteria were evaluated. The EOs extracted using water distillation Clevenger apparatus. We analyzed composition obtained. determination minimum concentration growth inhibition herbals investigated by broth dilution technique. All showed antibacterial activity Oliveria decumbens was strongest least MIC ranges (0.008–0.1 mg/ml for EO, 0.9–20 extract), while Artemisia vulgaris extract Glycyrrhiza glabra EO highest weaker than others. According effectiveness plant bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant all except decumbens. contrast, Bacillus cereus more sensitive other strains extracts. decumbens, detected 18 components GC/MS accessible genuine standards, accounting 98% oil content. It seems that due observed in they can be used as an alternative drugs after extensive studies.

In this study antimicrobial effects of Salivia mirzayanii and Saliva atropatana were evaluated against six gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by immersion bioautography, cylinder plate and tube dilution methods separately. In bioautography method, essential oils of Salvia mirzayanii and Salvia atropatana were separated on silicagel TLC plates by toluene-ethyl acetate (93-7). In cylander p...
